The Journey of the Wild Rose

One at a time, the tender petals of a rose bloom
For yet another one, so as to make room.

Until the wilderness sees the last of them open
And reveal within it, the beauty of the pollen.

A bee hums by on a day that is warm and sunny;
Finding the flower makes his day and so does it make for some honey!

As the beautiful day breaks into dusk,
The breeze carries around it the sweet fragrance of musk.

And as the sun’s rays make way for the shade
The colour of the petals begins to fade.

The gentle evening wind blows softly like a magic wand,
Carrying the seeds for the next rose to the fertile soil by the pond.

Achieve great things.. make a small start

Whatever be your goals... small or big, tough or easy, they can be achieved. All you need to do is make an effort.
A small step at a time. And you shall never know when you reached the destination.

As author Robin. S. Sharma rightly puts it in his book "The monk who sold his Ferrari", '........the less you focus on the end result the quicker it will come................... With one eye fixed on the destination there is only one left to guide you along the journey....'

To quote the Bhagvat Gita[ Gita: Chapter II-47.],
Karmanyeva adhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana
Ma karmaphalahetur bhurma te sangostvakarmani.
"Thy business is with the action only, never with its fruits; so let not the fruits of action be thy motive, nor be thou to inaction attached."

And so I am going to make that small effort. And in this age, where you just need to ask for it and you get all kinds of tools to do everything under the sky, I came across a website, "http://www.joesgoals.com/". It helps to keep track of all that I should do in order to achieve all that I want to achieve. It motivates.... and also shows where my weaknesses lie.

I came across this site through a friend (and am I thankful to her!!).
I just thought that I am obliged to pass this on to one and all.
So here's wishing you success in your pursuit!!

Peacock feathers

A bunch of peacock feathers,
I looked at them with awe.
Each made of multiple colours,
Yet in each, a sight of harmony I saw.

Each strand has shades of blue and green,
So many browns can also be seen.

Every time you look at them,
A unique pattern emerges.
Try as you might to ruffle them,
From the mayhem, unison emerges.

Look at them and see those eyes,
Little wonder then that pride is said to be the peacock’s vice!!

Divine Will

From the little window of a railway carriage I peep,
A single rock at the top of a hundred boulders, piled in a heap;

A delicate balance of which our lives seem to be imitations,
Is it a mockery of our limitations?!

Each pebble plays its part to make the hill, yet
What keeps them standing together through the ages, can anybody bet?

What is the pebble without the mighty hill?
But alas, it is but the pebbles that make up the hill!!

What keeps them together, will we ever know?
Who is He who runs the whole show?

Call it Mother Nature or call it God's Will;
Fools call it coincidence, after all they too are given a will!

ME!

Tides rule the surface
There is a strange calm beneath;
Tides are not in the nature of water,
It is when drawn by an external force that water rises and falls.

But for that magnetic attraction towards the moon,
The ocean would've been a sailor's paradise.
Yes!! Left alone water shows its true colours..
Transparent, pure, subtle, calm and peaceful.
Left alone!!
