Warning: I would not wish to spoil your experience of watching the movie.. So please read this only after you have seen the movie for yourself.

No doubt, a lovely movie. Made me laugh out loud and much as I hate to admit, I did shed a few tears too (:blush) Abhi's performance as usual deserves a 'thumbs up'. His expressions by Auro's bedside were the culprit for the droplets on my cheek! Lovely humour thats typical of a 12 year old boy... It makes you believe Auro is really 12 despite the appearance, his maturity at times and the fact that he is played by a man whom the world knows to be a senior citizen. I never once thought of Big B while watching the movie. He is just Auro.. So convincing. Cudos to the make up too. Vidya.. amazing in a saree.. other outfits thumbs down. But the girl makes me proud overall..

However, some parts I wish to deliberate upon…

Point one: Abhishek’s character… Contradictory ! A man who wants to change the country. A wannabe, I can probably understand but he is actually projected to be one of values and virtues but the same guy wont take responsibility for his child?? So he is partially self centered and partially selfless? He wants to be a successful politician ok… but he wants to serve people?? What characterization is that… Incongruous.

Point two: A woman who struggles for 14 years to raise a child… Gosh! She must hate that man. And I am supposed to believe its all rosy rosy in the end and they live happily ever after! Thats Bollywood for you! Women are candles made of wax.. to melt at the sound of a ‘sorry’.. no wonder men get away with everything that they do!

Point three: I was laughing when Vidya’s mother asks her “Do you want the child?” repeatedly… No now that isn’t funny.. How many moms would react that way?? Totally unemotional, mature reaction from a mother whose daughter is pregnant and the father of the child just shirked responsibility?!! One thing believable was in the end when that same mom behaves totally like our prototype Indian Mom and says to Mr.Young MP-ji, “All these years I was hoping you would show up!” Hahaha… now that’s the TRUE Indian Mom reaction!!

STRAIGHT- Ek tedhi medhi love story (??!!)

Slow paced yet comic in parts.
Its Vinay Pathak's usual style. Gul's same old smile.
I thought Anuj Choudhry was cute.His voice quality amused me..
Cant call it a must watch but "chalta hai".
(I dont think i can devote any more space in my blog for this movie!)

Dostana- the movie

Here comes a 4 star-er after a really long time!

Mr. Junior Bachhan...kudos.... an amazing performance.

And yeah.. as usual John Abraham is classic example of all brawn and no brain! Jeez... he cant act for nuts.
Kiron Kher lets her brilliance show all over again.
Priyanka doesn’t disappoint too.. though not an outstanding performance.

Hey and the friendship factor is a hit. Comedy rules all along the story line.

MAA DA LAADLA.. is a song that really entertains and makes u swing to its beats.

Namastey London –time pass movie

Hey I definitely dint expect much from this one but I was in for some surprise. It was time pass for sure. Akshay Kumar has done a good job entertaining, as usual. Songs are just ok. You can expect yourself to laugh out loud more than a few times here. Though it can’t be called a super hit comedy, it doesn’t fail to entertain you. The storyline is not bad. It is a different subject for a comedy movie. A patriotic statement by Akshay Kumar is welcome, never mind that for a moment, it made me wonder if I went into a congress election campaign by mistake!

Katrina Kaif has given an average performance. Though in a few shots she seemed artificial and too bouncy, overall a good effort. Looks good too as a bonus for all fans out there.

Rishi Kapoor is no surprise. The same old self.

On the whole, I would give the movie 3.5 stars –more than average.

The Namesake - Am I the only one who doesn’t like the movie??

Well… After all the hype about “The Namesake” being a ‘great’ film by 'the great’ Mira Nair, I was disappointed beyond compare. It started out fairly well but as it progressed, it seemed to lack captivity and failed to keep the audience’s attention. Not much of a storyline. Seems slow and more like a documentary.

On a good note, as expected, there is a display of good acting skills by Tabu and Irrfan Khan. The subject is good and real but a lot of movies have broached it before and I don’t see why this should be the better of the lot. No punch lines. The ending was sad! Not convincing at all!

The hot scene enacted between Irfan Khan and Tabu lacked any sensuousness. It felt vulgar, no grace or dignity whatsoever, leaving a bitter taste in the mouth.

Overall a bore!!!!!!!
